LEA PICK
I am a South Carolina-based designer and painter who is passionate about storytelling through immersive environments.

I am a recent graduate from Florida Gulf Coast University where I studied various departments of theatre, with my primary focuses being in scenic and lighting design. Having knowledge in both these areas of theatre has allowed me to hone in on my all-time-favorite-topic: color theory!

My portfolio has a range of productions that called for authentic spaces while with others I got to explore more of the symbolic and abstract nature of some of these pieces. Whatever the case, I love finding the true character of each script and working that onstage. If we have the chance to work together, know that I am enthusiastic and grateful to take on all of the above!

Overall, it is a huge priority that wherever I am, whatever project I'm working on, I am surrounded by kind, supportive, and driven artists in an inclusive workplace.
Some theaters/producers I have worked with in the past include TheatreZone, The Community School of Naples, Florida Repertory Theatre (FL), Weathervane Playhouse (OH), and The REV Theatre Company (NY).

When I'm not working in the theater, you can find me kickboxing or scoping out the next best hole-in-the-wall coffee shop!

Earrings for "on the job"
Part of my morning routine is looking through my large collection of "wackadoodle" earrings and feeling what the vibe is for the day. It could be chairs, doll heads, lamposts... I just select the pair completely based on intuition. Below I have prime examples of some of my favorite pairs:
Hand tools

Broken Home Depot paint sticks

More about me...
I started theater in middle school as an actor (tale as old as time), and once I got to high school and took my first Stagecraft class, we were tasked with creating a set for our production of Peter Pan JR.

As I was reading the script, using the provided Crayola colored pencils to sketch the different looks for each scene, and getting encouragement from my teacher, it felt like something finally clicked within me...

This is how I want to make art.
If it weren't for what I thought would be a random high school elective, I never would've guessed that my passions truly lie in giving character to an environment.

My first ever scenic design for Peter Pan JR. from high school
I have so much gratitude for seeing where my passions and aspirations have taken me so far in my career. My first full-fledged scenic design Antigone at Florida Gulf Coast University holds a special place in my heart the same way that Peter Pan JR. does.
Quick overview of my experience working on Antigone :)
Thanks for taking the time to learn about me!
